Jeremy Grasset

Jérémy Grasset is the director of Shanti Travel. His love story with India began when he was a business school student and first landed in Calcutta. This vibrant and chaotic country immediately captivated him. He settled there for ten years, exploring it from one favorite spot to another. It was there that he met his partner, as well as his associate, Alexandre Le Beuan. In 2005, they co-founded Shanti Travel with the goal of offering foreigners an authentic and direct experience of India. Jeremy’s experiences and passions then shaped the tours they offer. Having lived in Chennai (the former Madras) and Pondicherry, Jérémy highlights South India. He also wants to introduce his travelers to the dazzling Indian religious ceremonies, such as Diwali, the festival of lights, or Durga Puja, a very feminine celebration marking the victory of the goddess Durga over the demon...

Alexandre Lebeuan

From the age of 9, Alexandre Le Beuan was captivated by the majesty of the Himalayas. This passion, inherited from his mountaineering parents, later led him to explore the cultures and languages of South Asia at Langues'O. Eager for adventure, he combined theory and practice by guiding travelers through the Rajasthan desert and the dizzying paths of the Himalayas. In 2002, a tour operator specializing in trekking gave him the mission of his dreams: to design treks across Asia. This opportunity became a springboard, allowing him to traverse the continent, sharpen his expertise, and understand the intricacies of adventure travel. In 2005, fueled by his experiences and a desire to live in India, he launched Shanti Travel. His ambition? To reveal the hidden treasures of this fascinating country through immersive, tailor-made journeys and to allow travelers to experience India as a transformative experience, off the beaten path and at the heart of the country’s soul. The meeting and partnership with Jérémy marked a pivotal turning point for Shanti Travel. Together, they adapted the successful model from India to other gems of Asia.

Passionate about travel and discovery since childhood, I have explored Asia, North and South America through my job as a production manager for over 15 years.
The grey skies of Paris led me to settle with Shanti Travel in India, my heart's country for many years, where I managed our local office. Almost 3 years later, I decided to return and since then, I’ve dedicated all my energy to promoting and developing Shanti from our office in France.

20 years ago, I founded my own travel agency in the Caucasus, in Georgia. Later, I coordinated French-speaking agencies in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. Working with local teams is my passion: these men and women on the ground transform your journey into an unforgettable experience. In 2022, a memorable trip to India deeply moved me. I discovered a new, fascinating world. Today, I am proud to support the Shanti teams across Asia.

In finance

Since I was young, I’ve had the chance to travel with my family to all continents, and my passion for travel quickly developed! My skills led me toward finance, and my studies took me to London. In 2017, I moved to Asia, where I joined our Bali office, then the Vietnam office, where my bond with Shanti and its teams strengthened through my experiences in almost every department of the company. Back in France, I still juggle budgets, Excel, and carefully hold the key to the safe, while always making time for travel!

I had the chance to land at Shanti right after my studies, in Sri Lanka. From the very first days, I felt the incredible energy and passion that drove the entire team. It seems that this passion for Asia, for travel, for Shanti was passed on to me with such intensity, as it hasn’t faded one bit in the last 6 years. From Sri Lanka to the Caucasus, I experienced beautiful immersions before returning to France. I am now in charge of production, ensuring that every new trip created is infused with the Shanti DNA.

Rajesh

In innovation

My name is Rajesh, born in New Delhi, with family roots in Rajasthan. My journey with Shanti is quite exceptional. I began my career with a great passion for the travel industry on March 16, 2006, joining the team as a driver-guide. Later, I trained and specialized in the fields of IT and management. For 19 years, I have turned my passion for travel into my profession, while developing a particular expertise in IT sophistication, as well as administration and management. My strong interest in the continuous improvement of IT systems, combined with my skills in administration and management, drives me to always seek innovation in the inspiring travel industry.

Gayan

In IT and development

I was born in Kandy and joined the Shanti team in 2010, on the day our Colombo office opened, while finishing my degree in IT and engineering. I started my career as an IT administrator, and then quickly progressed to become the IT manager for the office. Later, I took on the role of managing IT for the entire Shanti Travel group, and since 2020, I have been the IT manager and project manager. Since last year, I have also been the General Manager of the Shanti Travel office in Colombo.
I have the pleasure of collaborating with people from all over the world while developing numerous areas of expertise, but my passion is always driven by the screen!

Komang

On the ground

I was born in Bali, and my life philosophy is based on three essential elements: preparation, opportunity, and luck, a wisdom passed down by my beloved father. I am 42 years old, married, and a father of a daughter and a son. My career began after I graduated in tourism in 2004. Through my extensive experience as a field manager in tailor-made travel agencies, as well as in group travel and corporate event trips, I’ve learned a great deal about both organized and individual travel. I had the chance to meet Shanti in 2017, and I now work as the Operations Manager for Indonesia, where I can apply all my knowledge while discovering sustainable travel solutions.
